Dear Fellow R. R. Moton Alumni, Family, Friends & Associates:
It is a pleasure for me to serve as the second President of Robert Russa Moton High National Alumni Association. That’s exactly what our Executive Board and Alumni Members have been doing since the idea of developing a National Alumni Association was presented in 2010. Our main objective is to provide and promote programs, activities, and constant contact among alumni in remembrances of the School.
We need you! Yes we need you to help restore and maintain the school, to help provide scholarships to students at Leeds High School, to continue to plan and promote school reunions so we can always keep the memories of the school alive, and we need you to help us increase our membership by passing the word, “An Alumni Association exists for Robert Russa Moton High School, Leeds, Alabama”.
Robert Russa Moton High School – what memories we all have! Since the school still stands today, we have even more to be proud of. You are invited to take a stroll down memory lane by visiting us at our Alumni Association Meeting the last Tuesday of every month except December. We meet at the school in the Library at 6:30 pm. Yes, when you stroll down the halls of the school you still see all the pictures of graduating classes from years gone by. In fact, “Have You Heard? Moton High School has been turned into a Community Center that serves the community and still stands as a reminder of the rich tradition that helped to develop so many of us.
Sincerely,
Mary M. Hughes
